Cafe Niederegger

In the middle of the old town, directly opposite the town hall, is the famous Café Niederegger with its Marzipan Salon.

Let yourself be spoiled, whether for breakfast, lunch or coffee hour.On the second floor, the café presents the history of the "harem confection" and takes visitors on a long journey through time that the almond specialty has traveled from the Orient to Lübeck over many centuries. The 12 life-size personalities made of marzipan are an unmissable attraction: from Hans Jakob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen to Thomas Mann and Wolfgang Joop, all fans of Niederegger's famous marzipan.

A visit to Niederegger's arcade café with a view of the historic city hall, St. Mary's and St. Peter's is also highly recommended.
