Detailed description
Named after the Lübeck native and famous painter Johann Friedrich Overbeck, the art society was founded in 1918. Every year, the Overbeck Society presents five exhibitions of contemporary art, specially designed for its exhibition venue in Lübeck. The exhibitions are accompanied by guided tours, workshops as well as concerts and readings in cooperation with other cultural institutions in Lübeck. Exhibition catalogs and annual gifts are published regularly to accompany the projects.
