The Sand Sculpture Exhibition will once again take place next to the Dockside in the fishing port of Travemünde. For the sixth year in a row, a new sand world with the theme "Film and Television" will be created in three boat halls, covering an exhibition area of 3,500 square metres. For the 2024 season, the sand team will use a total of 9,500 cubic metres of special sand to create works of art up to seven metres high. More than 100 sculptures will take you on a journey through the theme of "Myths & Legends".
Immerse yourself in the world of mythology and meet the mighty Greek father of the gods, Zeus, and the Roman god of the sea, Neptune. You can also meet one of the world's most famous legendary figures, Till Eulenspiegel, the famous liar Baron von Münchhausen, the Pied Piper of Hamelin and many other fascinating characters, some magical and some real, such as the Giant of Travemünde.
The adjoining refreshment area invites visitors to linger, while younger guests can get to grips with the children's sand. The entire exhibition is barrier-free and can be visited with pets on a lead. The public car park "Am Fischereihafen" is located directly opposite the entrance to the exhibition and can also accommodate coaches. The exhibition is also within walking distance of the Skandinavienkai train station and the Teutendorfer Weg bus stop.
